The Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) is currently facing serious allegations of medical negligence after a patient's surgery reportedly went wrong. According to the family of Mahesh Madar, he was admitted to BIMS with stomach pain, where doctors performed surgery. However, the family claims that instead of addressing the abdominal lump causing the issue, the surgeons mistakenly cut a portion of his intestine.

Following his discharge, Mr. Madar suffered severe pain and was subsequently admitted to KLE Hospital, where a scan allegedly confirmed the surgical error.

The family states they have incurred expenses of nearly 10 lakh for his ongoing treatment and are demanding action against the BIMS doctors.

In response to these claims, a source from BIMS has denied that any surgery was performed on Mr. Madar at their institute, stating he was only admitted for a three-day treatment period.
